Benefits

  • Postures linked by breath into one continuous flow, so the mind has something to follow.
  • Builds strength, stamina and flexibility together, a good fit if you want to work up a sweat.
  • Classes are levelled, so you can come as a beginner and still keep up.

What to expect

Classes are levelled, so a first-timer and a regular can be in the same room. Wear something you can move in, bring water, and mention any injury to the teacher before you start. A private Vinyasa Flow Yoga session is paced entirely around you instead of a group.

Frequently asked questions

Is Vinyasa Flow suitable for beginners?

Yes, if you are reasonably fit and do not mind feeling a little lost for the first twenty minutes. If you would rather start slower, Hatha is the gentler first class.

What should I wear and bring to my first yoga class?

Clothes you can move and bend in, ideally a top that stays put and bottoms without a hard waistband. Yoga is done barefoot. Bring water; our cork mats, blocks, straps, knee pads and bolsters (if you need one) are all provided, so you do not need your own.

Arrive ten to fifteen minutes early for a first class. Avoid a full meal in the two hours before; something light an hour or two before is better than arriving on an empty stomach.
